HP Z400 Power Supply question

I got one free from my work.  They have been scrapping Z400s lately.  I purchased an updated processor moving from a 2.6ghz 4 core to a 3.4ghz 6 core processor.  I also put a GTX 750TI video card in it.  The stock power supply is holding and I have read the possible upgrades here but I also noticed that I could buy a used 600 watt HP Z420 power supply on eBay for cheap.  Will this fit the Z400 case and plug into the Z400 motherboard?  Visually it looks like it just might work.

  • After additional research I had to conclude that the Z420 Power supply is not compatible with the Z400 motherboard.  The Z420 uses an 18 pin connector while the older Z400 motherboard uses a 24 pin connector.  Probably easier to just adapt a modern SFX power supply as was suggested on this site.
