HP Z420 and Z440 water cooling option

Does anybody out there know what kind of thermal efficiency I can expect getting a HP water cooler over the stock fan system on a Z420 or Z440.   I have one of both and I use them for video encoding editing, and processing.   Some software uses primary GPU but some uses CPU and my CPU temp is bumping up against the 80C threshold for long periods of time as some of these encodes last for over 24hrs.    Obviously the water block is going to be better, Im just trying to figure out of if is worth the $60 a piece for a referb HP water cooler.   Thanks

  • I think it will depend on what setting fans to 100% does in your air-cooled use-case.  I think you'll get an improvement for sure, and being a factory aio, it will be high quality and bring some value.  Unfortunately, not enough people have tried it so you'll have to be the first to really measure the difference.
