NVME Drive on t7910

Hi,

I recently purchased a dell precision t7910 workstation and am looking to install an m.2 nvme drive into it. I am having trouble getting the PC to recognise the nvme drive?

Is there anything special in the bios that i need to do so it will recognise the drive? I have updated the bios to A31.

Any help would be great

  • Adrian de Boucherville it should be as simple as installing the pcie adapter w/NVMe M.2 in to an IO slot.  What model card and M.2 ssd are you using?

  • Actually my mistake, the drives I am using are not NVME. I am using 2 x 500gb WD Blue 3D NAND SATA SSD M.2 2280. I have a generic Pcie card that holds 2 M.2 drives that I purchased on ebay. Could that be the problem?

  • It's possible.  Try installing 1 x M.2 SSD at a time.
