  • What psu do you have? The 1050ti is a 75 watt card and your pcie slots are rated for 150 watts. There should be no issue there. I don't know what all psus are available for a 5500 or exactly what cpus you are using or anything else you have going on. Everything hooked up in your pc uses power and it adds up. I do doubt you have to change anything for 1 75 watt card though.

  • I have dual 2.93 cpu and a 875 power supply want to make sure it will work ok with system and function with out problems. I am still learning as I am upgrading and on a budget.

  • With the 875w PSU. You will have no issue running a 1050 in that setup.

  • thank you do you think there would be an issue if I later found upgraded cpu that pull more power like the 5690

  • No issue at all with a CPU upgrade.

  • I just came across this(Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080) would it be better than the 1050ti and will this work n my t5500

Did you actually find it at a decent price? I only ask because of the gpu shortage at that one would be worth alot right now. Yes it would be a better card. I would have to look into what it requires for pcie power cables to determine how to hook it up in your system. Other than that your cpu will bottleneck it but it's still going to be better than a 1050.

  • Found a thread on here talking about a gpu upgrade on your system. I never worked with the early precision pcs so I have no experience. This thread talks about what psu connections needed but I'm not sure if a 2080 will actually fit in your case.

If it is a good price I'd still say buy it. If you can't make it fit you can turn around and sell it for profit right now. If you looking at spending stupid money for it like most cards now I wouldn't bother.
