P500 E5-1630 v3 3.7GHZ vs P700 E5-2620v3 Xeon 2.4GHz

Thanks for all your great videos and advice which have inspired me to go down the workstation refurb route.

I'd like your advice on which of these systems you would choose.

- P500 with E5-1630 v3 3.7GHZ (4 core)

- P700 with E5-2620 v3 Xeon 2.4GHz (8 core)

both have 650W PSUs. The P700 has only the one CPU fitted. Price is almost identical.

I want to use it for gaming and thinking of adding a GTX 1660 Super to either.

I know you generally advise to go for higher clock speeds (favoring the P500) but the P700 has twice the cores and the empty second CPU socket (potentially upgradeable).

For modern games, is more cores likely to be better with the 2620 or is the lower clock speed and lower single thread performance of the 2620 more likely to be a bottleneck?

Thanks in advance.
