What backup software / hardware do you use?

It is so great to find like minded people, when it comes to computers (e.g. taking business class computers and use them at home for gaming and other stuff).

I'm wondering what you use for backup hardware and software.

Examples:  External USB 3.0 hard drive and XCOPY or Ashampoo or Windows Backup or ??

I used to think tape would always be the backup "god," but it might be cheaper to use external drives (e.g. USB 3.0) today.  What do you think?  What do you use for backup?

Thanks! :)

  • Bertram Moshier it looks like you already know of some valid solutions.  I use acronis true image.

    • Jbigticket23 What backup device are you using?  Internal drive, External drive (USB X, Firewire, ??), etc?

    • Bertram Moshier mainly internal drives.  Although external usb 3.0 drives work well.

  • My 4 TB external drive on USB 3.0 died. Single HDD cannot offer you reliable backup. Best idea is you get 2 identical external drives and you sync them between them from time to time, and you keep one of them in a safe at the bank.
